The day I imagined my client’s results singing.
“My results should speak for themselves”, he said crossly.
And then it happened: I suddenly visualised his results like dancing peanut M&Ms.
These dancing peanut M&Ms were also singing.
Singing his praises. In Dolby stereo.
To this day, I pray this lasted only seconds.
What a lovely fantasy.
If only it were true.
Results speaking for themselves.
So many professionals say so little about their results.
They don’t want to come across as arrogant or self-serving.
“I don’t want to brag”.
Instead, they dream about their results being
Seen by everyone who matters.
Understood by those who have a say in their compensation.
Mentioned when a new strategic project arises.
What a lovely fantasy.
Reality unfortunately is less adorable.
Results are often invisible.
Mute.
Misunderstood.
