The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the epitome of Relationship Friction

I hesitated to post about this: such a loaded and incredibly delicate topic.

Let me make it clear: my intention with this post is NOT to make light of this war.

My point is this: Relationship Friction is the root cause of conflict.

It can take many forms.

It’s that escalating argument with your sibling.
Or the (Northern) Irish Troubles I saw playing out on the news as a child.
Or that aggressive team member challenging your management skill.
Or the American (civil) War of Secession I learnt about in university.
Or the fragmented state of today’s French Parliament bringing chaos to its citizens.

…all of these are examples of the same human dynamic.
Bigger or smaller, just a question of scale.

Relationship Friction is always painful, at times destructive, and sometimes – as history tragically shows – deadly.

Here on LinkedIn, I have been writing about the Relationship Friction challenges I hear about in the workplace. I share with you what I observe: that there is a way out and a path to your Relationship Wisdom.

Right now, I simply acknowledge that Relationship Friction is endemic and intrinsic to human nature.

And yet, endowed by consciousness, in your spheres of influence, you can choose to reject Relationship Friction.

Shifting your perspective just a little, taking responsibility, learning to really dialogue.
